Corporate partnerships

Your organisation has an opportunity to be part of profound change —  to help build a future where First Peoples thrive in every area of life.

We are a financially robust and well-governed organisation. Since 2018, we have increased our asset base from $67 million to over $114 million, while remaining 100 per cent compliant with the NSW Aboriginal Land Council's Risk Assessment System for five consecutive years.

We have achieved meaningful and measurable success in Closing the Gap in health, education and employment of First Nations people. We invite your organisation to join our growing list of partners.

Your partnership with us could be through:

  • Education and scholarships
  • Traineeships, cadetships and apprenticeships
  • Skills training and development
  • Holistic health, mental and emotional wellbeing programs
  • Paediatric, neo- and antenatal care
  • Dental care
  • Elderly care
  • First Nations culture and heritage awareness and education programs
  • Environmental protection and development

We could partner with your organisation through co-designed service delivery, research collaboration, infrastructure investment and funding contributions that align with your Corporate Social Responsibility programs, Reconciliation Action Plans, health equity or other reconciliation priorities.

Together, we can deliver on the national call to action to Close the Gap. If you would like to start a conversation with Gandangara, please call us on (02) 9602 5280 or email Reception@glalc.org.au

We work with businesses and local councils to improve lives and build futures for disadvantaged people in the local government areas we serve: Parramatta, Sutherland Shire, Cumberland, Fairfield and Canterbury-Bankstown.

Here are some examples of our successful partnerships:

  • Bradfield Development Authority has established a formal framework for operational and cultural cooperation in the development of Bradfield City. We will work together to improve opportunities for First Nations people in Western Sydney, through employment, education and training at the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF) and across Bradfield City’s development.
  • Liverpool City Council granted us access to recreational lands at Apex and Phillips Parks to celebrate our First Nations community and heritage, and enhance the appeal of these parks for our community.
  • Yarpa Hub provides individual pathways to our First Nations people to find satisfying, long-term employment
  • Liverpool Catholic Club partnered with us through their Club Grants program
  • Dooleys Club in Lidcombe provides grants to the Gandangara Health Service for community activities and helps fund the Marumali swim program.

As a registered not-for-profit with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission, we are eligible for a range of grants and government funding.

National Indigenous Australians Agency ($2.148 million grant)

A grant from the National Indigenous Australians Agency is funding our First People’s Ranger Response Team, involved in caring for Country and empowering female leadership.

Aboriginal Affairs NSW ($250,000 grant)

A Community and Place Grant from Aboriginal Affairs NSW also supports the First People’s Ranger Response Team to restore and protect over 1,100 hectares of Aboriginal-owned land at Heathcote Ridge. This includes cultural burns, pest and weed management, the creation of walking tracks, waste removal and road repairs.

West Invest program

We have secured $24.3 million in NSW Government funding through the WestInvest program to deliver two transformational initiatives designed by community, for community. This will fund our cultural connection hub and a support centre for veterans and youth.

Gandangara Cultural Connection Hub ($7.4 million grant)

On land we own in Liverpool, we are creating a landmark arts and cultural centre. The state-of-the-art facility features a curated Keeping Place for First Peoples' knowledge and artefacts.

Designed to welcome all, the Hub will feature:

  • a Living Culture and Learning Centre
  • a Keeping Place for Aboriginal knowledge and artefacts
  • interpretive gardens and rooftop native plantings
  • yarning circles and storytelling spaces
  • an art studio, a lore room and community meeting rooms
  • native rooftop gardens
  • community-run café

This unique experience will foster a deeper understanding, respect, and pride in the world’s oldest continuing culture - while strengthening connection and belonging for our people.

Gandangara First Peoples’ Support Centre for Veteran Rehabilitation and Youth Diversion ($16.9 million grant)

We are also establishing the Gandangara First Peoples’ Support Centre for Veteran Rehabilitation and Youth Diversion in the Cumberland City Council. This first-of-its-kind, culturally-led centre is supporting two vulnerable groups.

Set within restored heritage buildings, the Centre will offer:

  • veteran rehabilitation programs for ex-service Aboriginal men and women
  • youth diversion programs for young people at risk of re-offending
  • fully accessible, trauma-informed, culturally safe spaces
  • holistic case coordination, health and social supports, and vocational pathways

An opportunity to partner with purpose

We are now seeking partners to support us on the next stage of this journey particularly our Living Well Hub, which will expand culturally-safe mental health, social and emotional wellbeing and Alcohol and Other Drugs services for our community.
